Iron Magazine and its extremely ignorant and clueless writer, Matt Weik, has been putting out more nonsensical garbage than usual this week. One of their articles covered the Noom diet and read more like an advertisement piece than a critical review. And although it sounds like the old Lolcat meme of “Om Nom Nom Nom,” it’s far from it. Let’s see what this moron, this Matt Weik, managed to put together. And I’ll try to play nice. Maybe. Probably not.
“Weight loss apps have become increasingly popular tools for those planning to shed pounds and improve their health. Among these, Noom has emerged as a helpful application since its launch in 2013. The Noom Diet, a comprehensive weight loss program, uses its app to take a unique approach by focusing on the psychology behind eating habits and promoting long-term behavioral changes.
This app aims to help users not only lose weight but also develop a healthier relationship with food and exercise. By merging personalized weight loss plans with insights into the mental aspects of eating, the Noom app offers a comprehensive solution to weight management.”
Can’t frikkin’ stand apps, or even smartphones for that matter. Hate ‘em. But yeah, psychology is important, especially to reach the dumbed-down sleeping masses that has no clue about anything, the zombies without any real goal or mission in life, the ones that simply turn to food as soon as they’re bored, upset, or simply want a fight-or-flight response to “wake them up” as a result from all the toxins they put down their gullets.
However, establishing new eating habits are of zero worth if the idiots behind the app know nothing of proper human nutrition. So, let’s see if they do or if this is just another deadly disaster waiting to happen.
What is the Noom Diet?
“Noom offers a fresh take on weight loss that helps you finally stick to a diet plan. This program focuses on changing your mindset about food and health, using principles from cognitive behavioral therapy.”
Fresh take? Because it’s a frikkin’ app that has you glued to that flickering mind-altering screen on your phone? Diet and food registration apps are a dime a dozen, and unless they focus on proper human nutrition, as in animal-based foods, they are all totally worthless, a waste of time and dangerous to boot.
As for psychology-based diet approaches, there are plenty, such as Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT,) Stages of Change Model, Food Psychology, and Autonomy, Relatedness, and Competence (ARC,) to mention a few. And again, they’re all garbage, as none of them recognize true natural and proper human nutrition, nor do they consider the extreme toxicity and damage that non-species appropriate food do to our physiology.
“Unlike many diets, Noom doesn’t restrict any foods or set strict eating schedules. Instead, the objective is to shift your entire lifestyle for better eating habits, more physical activity, stress reduction, and improved sleep.”
It does not restrict any foods? Wow, the developers of this “Noom Diet” are sure complete idiots. With that statement they have admitted that they know absolutely nothing of the toxicity and damage induced from plant-based foods, from seed/vegetable oils, and from any processed food, nor do they understand nutrients, nutrient density, food synergy, or bioavailability, as in the the chemical form and absorption of the nutrient in the human body. They’re just a bunch of psychologists that are totally clueless about the most important factor, that of nutrition.
Now, I do agree that changing your lifestyle and habits are an important first step to get you going, and so is some physical activity and especially focusing on your sleep. However, nothing of this will do anything if you continue to consume non-species appropriate foods that poison you while not getting enough bioavailable nutrients (only found in animal-based foods.) If you do not reduce the plant-based and processed crap and increase the amount of animal-based foods, you will still be a toxic and malnourished mess no matter what else you do.
“Noom uses a simple color system to guide food choices, categorizing items as green, yellow, or red based on their nutritional value and recommended frequency of consumption. This approach helps users make informed decisions about their diet without feeling restricted.”
All right then. A color system, as in treating their customers as small children presented with a coloring book. Still, dividing foods into groups is good, if they actually understand what natural and proper food items are, as in animal-based foods. Such a system would work very well with a 12 to 16 week transition phase into an ketogenic animal-based diet. It’s similar to the approach I’ve used for +22 years where I start with a diet similar to what they currently eat and then slowly phase out the toxic plant-based stuff while adding in more and more animal-based foods until the diet is ketogenic and then a few weeks later, fully carnivore.
However, that “feeling restricted” dogma is only relevant while you are still programmed to consume the wrong kind of food and get a kick from it due to poisoning. Once you become fully nourished and fat adapted, you will stop obsessing and thinking about “food.” You will actually start eating only to nourish your body, and you will always feel satisfied, satiated, and never experience hunger or cravings — because you are nourished. These feelings only manifest when you have nutrient deficiencies as your body is trying to tell you to eat more to address these deficiencies. Unfortunately, eating more of today’s modern foods, such as plant-based garbage or processed filth will not give you any nutrients, as they are not bioavailable and also only present in miniscule amounts. So the cravings persist in a never-ending loop and many people become overfed but undernourished. I’ve explained this in several articles.
What Can You Eat on a Noom Diet?
Noom’s approach to food categorization is based on calorie density rather than strict restrictions. The Noom Diet system uses a traffic light color scheme to guide food choices:
- Orange foods are calorie-dense and should be eaten in smaller portions. These include red meat, full-fat dairy, processed items, desserts, olive oil, nuts, and peanut butter.
- Yellow foods are to be consumed in moderation. Examples are avocado, salmon, chicken, turkey, beans, tofu, whole eggs, tempeh, and low-fat dairy products.
- Green foods are nutrient-rich and low in calories. These filling options include most fruits and vegetables, oats, quinoa, and whole-grain bread.
This color-coding helps users make informed choices about their diet without completely eliminating any food groups. The system promotes a balanced eating method, focusing on portion control and nutrient density rather than strict rules.
It was as bad as I feared, they turned it completely backwards and then messed around like toddlers splashing in a pool of mud.
Humans are obligate hyper carnivores, and as such should only consume animal-based food. Anything else is toxic and also non-bioavailable, which means that the body must attempt to convert the nutrient into something usable — a mechanic that has a very low conversion rate. And, if you have nutrient deficiencies, as almost all people do, this conversion process will be hampered and the conversion will be even lower. Also, whatever is not converted will act as toxins and attach to tissues causing damage — and that’s not to mention all the antinutrients and hundreds of defense chemicals that are present in all plant-based edibles and really cause tissue damage!
Now as you can see, the foods that are given the “green light,” are all extremely toxic and damaging to our physiology, all while having close to zero nutritional value. These are the foods that will really destroy your health and shorten your lifespan, and you’re supposed to fill most of your plate with them. Total insanity. These people who recommend this are either totally ignorant and stupid, or they are utter evil scum.
The only thing they got right is to limit (eliminate) processed items, seed/vegetable oils, and nuts. However, they just put them there because they focus on “calories” and “energy density,” while totally ignoring what really matters — nutrients and toxicity. It’s so frikkin’ retarded it’s not even funny.
Benefits of the Noom Diet (NONE!)
“1. Whole foods for a healthier lifestyle
The Noom Diet encourages users to prioritize whole foods, which is a solid foundation for better health. In fact, research shows that up to 80% of chronic illnesses can be prevented with simple lifestyle shifts, like adopting a whole-food, plant-based diet.”
Matt Weik, you are truly retarded, no offense, simply stating the obvious truth. There is zero legitimate research showing benefits from anything plant-based, just the opposite. As for illnesses, as I’ve explained a thousand times, any symptoms of “illness” or “disease” that you experience are from the body’s natural detoxification and healing processes. It’s a good thing. It means that you are getting better. However, if you have nutrient deficiencies and/or if you continue to expose your body to the same toxins, consuming the same idiotic foods, your body will not be able to keep up, and the condition becomes “chronic,” as in “chronic illness,” which actually should be called “a chronic healing response” — because your body is expelling toxins and repairing tissue at the same rate as new toxins are ingested and cause new damage. Most of the time, it’s a losing battle, and you get worse and worse as the toxic load and the damage is more than your body can keep up with.
So, when symptoms suddenly disappear due to consuming even more toxins and plant-based foods with even less bioavailable nutrients, your body becomes so malnourished that it can barely detox or repair any tissues, so the symptoms of these processes lessen or even disappear. That is not a good thing, as the toxic load and the damage will now speed up!
Again, I’ve explained this in many articles, especially about idiotic remedies, drugs, herbs, supplements, and alternative medicine. Anything that decreases or stops symptoms shortly after consumption is incredibly bad and dangerous! Your symptoms should slowly lessen and go away on their own once the detoxification and healing is complete — and that can only happen if you reduce the toxic load and make sure that your body is nourished by consuming a lot of animal-based foods.
“2. Access to certified health coaches
All of Noom’s health coaches complete a four-week training program provided by Noom.
In this program, they learn the fundamentals of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), the core method behind Noom’s weight loss approach. These professionals help guide you along your journey, providing expert advice and accountability.”
Well, we have already established that the diet they promote is absolute dog shit, extremely unhealthy and damaging, so their coaches will be just as much of a pile of dog shit.
Hey Matt, did I mention that you likely are retarded?
“3. Social events
Another great feature of Noom is its focus on social eating. Whether you’re preparing for parties, holidays, or vacations, Noom helps you develop strategies to enjoy these occasions while staying on track. This behavioral change is key to maintaining long-term weight loss success.”
When you are transitioning and partaking in an “social event,” just focus on animal-based food items and then take a little of what you currently like. No need to make a fuss about it and receive vile and jealous comments from the dumbed-down people you socialize with.
And once you are animal-based or even carnivore, you will have the mental strength and cognitive abilities of a God, so bringing your own pieces of raw meat or simply fasting during such silly events will be easy — as nothing will bother you, and you eat food to sustain life and be healthy, not as an excuse for being upset after some mean stranger addressed you by the wrong non-binary gender on the subway.
“4. Long term focus
The Noom Diet focuses on long-term habit formation using psychological strategies for sustainable weight management. Instead of promising quick results, it concentrates on developing a healthy mindset around food, fitness, and wellness.”
This shouldn’t really be needed, and it indicates that their nutritional strategies, as in their “diet” really sucks! As I’ve explained, once you are fully nourished and your body starts healing, you will no longer be hungry, have cravings, and your mentality will shift. You will become human again, you will be strong, you will have confidence and a sense of calmness around you, as you will no longer be trapped in a soy-boy mentality from all the toxins and nutrient deficiencies.
At this stage, food is just food, and no “strategies” or “psychology” is needed to keep you on track. It will be fully natural.
“5. Noom and weight loss
Noom promotes weight loss by creating a personalized calorie deficit. It calculates your daily calorie needs and provides a “weight loss zone” — a calorie range that encourages gradual, sustainable weight reduction.
To ensure safety and proper nutrition, the Noom Diet sets minimum calorie ranges: 1,200-1,320 for women and 1,400-1,540 for men. The program encourages daily food logging and weekly weigh-ins, practices linked to successful long-term weight management.”
Again, this is idiotic. Prolonged dieting will slow your metabolism, as the body adjusts to starvation. Also, eating less when the food choices already are catastrophically bad will guarantee that you get nutrient deficiencies, or worsen the one you already have. That will really screw up your health as nutrients are needed for every single process in your body. And if you lack one or several nutrients, many of these processes will be slowed down or put on halt. That is really bad, mmkay?
The best way to lose fat weight in a healthy manner is to consume a lot of animal-based foods, preferably following a pure carnivore diet, at least 4 to 5 days a week, and then do fasting for the remaining 2 to 3 days. The animal-based foods will guarantee that you have all the nutrients you need, and the fasting will use a lot of body fat, more that traditional dieting, while being so short that it will not affect your metabolism. And as a bonus, you will tap into autophagy during the days of fasting, accelerating detoxification and tissue repair, making you a lot healthier.
I have several free articles on this approach as well, and if you need more help, I’m available for coaching where I will customize complete educational guides that are personally tailored just for your situation.
And that was it on the “Noom Diet” from Matt Weik. Not a single criticism or explanation of their flawed approach. Well, hopefully I remedied some of that.
By the way Matt, did I mention that you surely must be retarded?
