Non-Linear Diet for ‘Lifters’ (What We Actually Did in the Past)

Welcome back to a little article review. This time we’re going back to T-Nation and an article from Chris Shugart, their ‘chief content officer.’ The article is called ‘The Non-Linear Diet for Lifters’ and is a take on the semi-recent study of ‘Intermittent Energy Restriction’ by Bill I. Campbell et al. from 2020. Chris begins his article by setting the stage by claiming that losing weight is easy, as it’s ‘basic calorie math’ and …

7 Beginner Nutrition Mistakes to Avoid

Yes, I do get requests to check out different health, fitness, and nutrition articles at times, and this one was just too funny not to make a little review out of. The article is about “7 beginner nutrition mistakes” and is written by Roger “Rock” Lockridge for the supplement store and publishing company Muscle and Strength, very similar to T-Nation, but a few steps behind. The article begins with the following premise: “When it …

The Fat Gain Formula

Today we revisit T-Nation and take a look at an article that is actually quite decent, although a bit slanted and shortsighted. The article is called ‘The Insidious Formula for Fat Gain,’ and is written by Jade Teta, a former personal trainer turned “doctor.” As usual, he begins with the ‘calorie’ dogma, stating that eating too many “calories” and “burning” too few will make you gain weight. No, doc. Calories are a measurement of …

This is NOT Food! If You’re Struggling to Get by Financially, Focus on Real Food!

As the cost of ‘food,’ ‘electricity,’ and simply the cost of living have dramatically increased during the last year, I see a lot of people struggling to make ends meet. This simple fact should make food choices much more important, cutting out obvious bad nutritionally deprived junk, but for most it doesn’t. Unfortunately, people have been programmed and dumbed down with the common belief that anything you put in your pie hole is food …

Review: 15 Health Supplements Men Allegedly Need

If you’re new to me and my website, I worked daily in the Fitness-, Bodybuilding-, Gym-, and Competitive Sports industry for almost 22-years with nutrition, supplementation, and training — and was involved in it for a total of more than 26 years. Most of that time, I too was trapped in the pseudo-science of “nutrition science” and was fooled by the synthetic toxic crap of the pharmaceutical and supplement industry. My outlook and understanding …

August 25, 2020. Training and fasting update.

It’s been a week since I did my 3-day fast and I’m only up 2.5 kg. Funny thing is that I’m stronger, look bigger, and I’m a lot leaner. So, of the 4 kg I lost during my short fast, a lot of that was actually body fat. Being very fat adapted, that should not come as a surprise. Also, I haven’t really had an appetite and I haven’t force fed myself just yet …

Do you get hungry; do you get cravings?

Unless you have a severe metabolic disorder, hunger or cravings are not due to lack of ‘calories’ or a low meal frequency (and thus low blood sugar, lol). Hunger, thoughts about food, and cravings are simply a sign that you have a nutrient deficiency. To put it bluntly, your diet and/or food choices suck. If you consume nutrition-dense foods with a high bioavailability, such as meat, egg yolks, fish roe and organ meats; you …
