August 7, 2021. Fasting update – 117 hours, 42 minutes

I started on Monday, at about 10am, and broke the fast today, Saturday morning at 7.42am. That’s 4 days and almost 22 hours. The reason I didn’t go a full 5 days or more was simply that I wanted to hit the gym again, and I felt I needed something as a pre-workout. So, I ended the fast with a tablespoon of fish roe, followed by a small 40-gram whey shake and some rice cakes. …

July 28, 2021. Training and Fasting Update.

Photo from this morning at 77.0 kg body weight, after about 68 hours of fasting. Yep, the fast lasted for only 69 hours or so. My head was in it, but not my body. Not in this already draining heat and the lack of sleep I’ve been experiencing for the last two months. Still, I do feel better after the fast and I have been improving at the gym all late spring and summer. …

January 26, 2021. Short Fasting Update! And Q&A

I broke my fast yesterday evening, after 78 hours. Why? I desperately longed for hitting the weights again and my foot felt a lot better. So, yesterday evening I had a whey protein drink with raw milk and heavy cream followed by steak and eggs. This morning, all I had was a pre-workout with 20 grams of slow-acting carbohydrates and 20 grams of essential amino acids. The photo was taken about 30 minutes after the …

October 25, 2020. The days after the 5-day fast.

The day after: First off, my body weight yesterday before breaking the fast was 70.2 kg (154.4 lbs.). Anyhow, I slept pretty well. I did have a small bowl of yoghurt, egg yolks, raw milk, and whey protein an hour after my steak tartare yesterday. Also made sure to load up on extra sodium and drinking a lot more water than I usually do – to help re-hydrate my body as it gets nutrients …

October 23, 2020. FASTING – Day 5 of 5

I had trouble falling asleep yesterday since I was very “wired”, but when I did, I slept pretty good for a total of about 6 hours (usually aim for 7.5 hours). October 22, 2020. FASTING – Day 4

My sleep was deep but short this night. I woke up at 2.45 am fully awake and energized. It was impossible to go back to sleep, so I got up and did some minor work-related tasks. Mostly internet stuff, preparing new websites and services, and such. Also, resting heart rate down 1 bmp since yesterday – and a total of 5 bmp since the start of the fast. My breaths per minute is also …

October 20, 2020. FASTING – Day 2

Woke up at 5.10 am and had my best sleep in more than half a year. Scored 88 on the FitBit app, where I usually score between 75 and 85. I usually sleep best on an empty stomach (everybody does, really) and I’ve been slacking with that the last half year where I’ve been re-gaining muscle and body weight. I’ve had my last meal at 7.00 pm for a long time now, and that …

October 19, 2020. FASTING – Day 1

Morning weight at 75.1 kg (165 lbs). I had my last meal at noon yesterday, so accounting for digestion, I had been in a fasted state for about 12 hours when I woke up this morning. I had about ½ teaspoon of salt, 1/3 teaspoon of potassium chloride and ¼ teaspoon of magnesium sulfate together with about 0.5 liters of water (I will take this three times a day during the fast). After doing …
