Today we return to Healthline and a recent article they published on ‘detox diets’ and whether they work or not. Although I’ve touched briefly on this in some articles, let’s see what they have to say on the subject and I’ll break it down.
“Your body is capable of cleansing itself without detox diets. However, other aspects of cleanses, including eating nutritious whole foods, may have benefits.”
Yes, although your body detoxes from what you recently ingested on a small level most of the time, depending on your health status, your body can only detox from stored toxins when in a fasted state. As soon as you consume something, detoxification and healing are halted. So, simply by understanding this, you also understand that a “detox diet,” or a “cleanse” where you digest something, is a scam.
So, even if you consume “nutritious whole foods,” which have other benefits such as nourishing you, it will not assist with the detox, but rather the opposite, it will stop it dead in its tracks. Also, most people have no idea what ‘nutritious whole foods’ actually are.
What is a detox?
“Detox diets are generally short-term dietary interventions designed to eliminate toxins from your body.”
You should not call the practice of detoxing “detox diets,” as it has nothing to do with a “diet.” Also, our bodies detox as soon as we are in a fasted state, which hopefully happen at least a few hours every night. So, explaining it as a “dietary intervention” is overreaching, as it’s all about not eating at all. Why not simply call it ‘extended detoxing’ by ‘fasting?’
“A typical detox diet involves a period of fasting, followed by a strict diet of fruit, vegetables, fruit juices, and water. Sometimes a detox also includes herbs, teas, supplements, and colon cleanses or enemas.”
Yes, a ‘period of fasting.’ At least you got that right. However, that small victory was short-lived. Following your fasting with plant-based man-made foods, such as vegetables and fruits, as in the most toxic foods possible for the human species, is utterly retarded; as you simply put toxins back in the body while stressing the fuck out of it by poisoning it with sugars and fiber. Frikkin’ moronic!
Herbs and teas are just as toxic, and should never be consumed by a human.
Colon cleanses and enemas will totally destroy your gut microbiome and are simply last-resort solutions if you have too much parasites or fungus by too much heavy metals and other crap you’ve been poisoning yourself with (as frequently seen in clueless vegans.) Simply doing colon cleanses or enemas because you been deceived to think it’s good is extremely idiotic and unhealthy.
“Detox therapies are most commonly recommended because of potential exposure to toxic chemicals in the environment or your diet. These include pollutants, synthetic chemicals, heavy metals, and other harmful compounds.”
And you can only get these toxic compounds and chemicals by consuming man-made and plant-based foods. If you follow our natural species-specific, species appropriate carnivorous diet of strictly animal-based foods, your exposure to toxins will be minimal. And if you actually have your last meal at least 4 hours before going to bed, so you are in a fasted state all through your sleep, you will be able to detox everything toxic you’ve been in contact with during the day.
However, since most people do not do this, and has been brainwashed to consume toxic slave foods, detox protocols are needed and has thus become very popular. Unfortunately, most do them wrong as well, as we can already see by this pathetic article by Healthline.
The most common ways to detox
“There are many ways to do a detox diet — ranging from total starvation fasts to simpler food modifications.”
And this goes to show how deceived and stupid most people are. Food modifications will do absolutely nothing. Again, you must be in a fasted state to properly detox. And “starvation fasts?” Do you even know what that is?
Real fasting, as in not consuming anything at all is muscle sparing and will upregulate hormones, protecting you, at least for the first 7 to 14 days, depending on your nutritional status. Starvation on the other hand is when you still eat a little here and there, like those morons on “survival” TV-shows like “Alone” or “Naked and Afraid,” where the feeble-minded participants eat whenever they find something instead of fasting and then only eat when they have amassed a lot of food or got a big kill.
By simply eating a little here and there, your body will never reach a real fasted state where autophagy is upregulated – our recycling and cleaning mechanism, where damaged cells are broken down and used as energy and material for new cells. Also, fat metabolism is hampered every time you drink or eat, so while real fasting will protect you, starving will break you down quickly. Anyone who has actually fasted for 14, 21 or more days and mostly lost body fat with minimal muscle loss and then watched a stupid episode of ‘Naked and Afraid’ where the participants lost 30 lbs. or more, which half was muscle mass, can see how laughable their “survival” skills truly are. Totally clueless about human physiology and the extreme powers of fasting, and especially dry fasting.
After this, Healthline list a few examples of “detox diets” which is simply painful to read as it includes “drinking only juices,” “using dietary supplements,” and “using enemas or laxatives.” At this point, you should know why.
Which toxins are eliminated?
“Detox diets rarely identify the specific toxins they aim to remove. The mechanisms by which they work are also unclear.
In fact, there is little to no evidence that detox diets remove any toxins from your body.”
Yes, because they do not work. They can’t! You must be in a fasted state to detox!
“What’s more, your body is capable of cleansing itself through the liver, feces, urine, and sweat. Your liver makes toxic substances harmless, then ensures that they’re released from your body.”
Yes, and we naturally detox all the time if our body is healthy, if we follow our natural species-appropriate diet. However, real detoxing of stored toxins requires a fasted state, and that usually only happens during the night. And that is why Intermitted Fasting, or a “feeding window” followed by a fasted state is a good strategy, as in only eating between the morning and late afternoon, fasting in the evening and during the night – as that will work synergically with our natural detoxification cycle.
“Despite this, there are a few chemicals that may not be as easily removed by these bodily processes, including persistent organic pollutants (POPs), phthalates, bisphenol A (BPA), and heavy metals.”
That is because wherever these pollutants and chemicals has been studied, they are from tissue samples of very unhealthy people who follows a shitty diet and never fast. However, you body is very capable if you actually work with it instead of against it. Adopt our natural diet and then do some fasting.
After this, Healthline discuss the effectiveness, which is only relevant if you are fully nourished by animal foods and then do an actual fast. Anything else will not produce any noticeable results.
Then they discuss the effects on weight-loss, which is simply a result of either abstaining from food or reducing the intake of food. It’s not really relevant when discussing detoxification practices, other than the fact that body fat is a storage for toxins. I have many articles on how toxic food promotes weight gain, as well as how to best lose body fat.
Detox diets, short-term fasting, and stress
“Several varieties of detox diets may have effects similar to those of short-term or intermittent fasting.”
Yes, because even if you are stupid enough to consume something during a detox, digestion time will be quicker because the meals or the liquids are of small quantities. That means that you will be in a fasted state a little bit longer, similar to doing ‘Intermittent Fasting.’ And this once again proves that you can only detox while you’re in a fasted state, still Healthline does not manage to understand or grasp this, as they never mention it. Embarrassing!
“However, these effects do not apply to everyone. Research shows that detox diets can lead to increased stress and binge eating.”
Yes, that is what usually happens when you do not do a real fast, but continue to eat a little or drink toxic sugary juices. You are not fasting, you are starving. You are not protected and your body will signal you to eat more to get real nutrients. So, of course, it’s easy to binge as your body is doing everything it can to get you to eat something that is actually nutritious, as in animal-based foods.
Safety and side effects
“Several detox diets recommend fasting or severe calorie restriction. Short-term fasting and limited calorie intake can result in fatigue, irritability, and bad breath.”
No, not “short-term fasting,” you frikkin’ morons. If you do real fasting, you are protected. But food restriction will cause this, as in starving.
“Long-term fasting can result in energy, vitamin, and mineral deficiencies, electrolyte imbalance, and even death.”
Yes, especially if you began fasting while being malnourished from following a diet rich in plant-based garbage foods. However, if you have been following our natural carnivorous diet for a while, then you can fast for a very long time, almost for as long as you have body fat to use for energy. Still, fasting longer than 14 days is usually counterproductive as you have already maxed out autophagy and you might begin to run out of some stored nutrients, making the fasting less effective and potentially start to use muscle mass to get those nutrients. So, typically, fasting for 7 to 11 days for healing and detoxing is optimal, and then refeed for at least a long as you fasted with animal-based foods and especially organ meats, before trying again if necessary. It’s that simple.
“Colon cleansing methods, which are sometimes recommended during detoxes, can cause dehydration, cramping, bloating, nausea, and vomiting.”
Again, doing these are idiotic. Only do them as a last desperate attempt if your gut is severely messed up and you got an overgrowth of fungus and/or parasites from consuming too much plant-based crap.
And if you do, be careful when you start eating again, focusing on small meals with animal fats and organ meats to get all the nutrition you need while slowly repopulating your gut flora.
If you need help with protocols like these, you know where to find me.
And that was about it for this time. As you can see, if you understand human physiology, even if it’s only the basics, it’s very easy to debunk most popular idiotic diet fads. And with some logic and common sense, you can most of the time navigate these waters and arrive at a sound conclusion. None of these things are really that complicated.
If you need help or are in need of some guidance with nutritional plans, health issues, fat loss, and/or transitioning from your current way of eating to our natural species-appropriate, species-specific way of eating, I’m available for both coaching and consultation.
