Histamine Intolerance Is From Damaged Tissue Being Repaired

Once again we return to Iron Magazine, that just like T-Nation is a supplement company disguised as an ‘online-magazine.’ This time, their writer Matt Weik, who has a pretty bad track record when it comes to understanding human physiology and nutrition, tackles the subject of “histamine intolerance.” Let’s see what he has to say and I’ll straighten things out once he begins to fall off the road by dipping his feet into the pseudo sciences of nutrition and modern medicine.

“There has been some talk about the low histamine diet lately, and it caused me to go down the rabbit hole to better understand exactly what it is and how it benefits people.”

Lately? It’s been going on for years, especially in the Keto/Carnivore community as most people are trapped between the truth of humans being obligate hyper carnivores, and all the lies put forth within the field of nutrition, modern medicine, and pharmacology.

And if you jump down the ‘rabbit hole’ you better be looking at real research as found within the fields of physiology, biology, and microbiology. And do not worry, I will explain exactly what “histamine intolerance” is and what to do about it at the conclusion of this article.

“Histamine functions as both a hormone and neurotransmitter, playing a vital role in the body. It helps regulate the immune system, aids digestion, and assists neurotransmission. Histamine is produced by the body’s cells and is naturally found in certain foods that we consume pretty regularly.”

See what I mean? You are still influenced by the inverted modern medicine and the fraudulent germ theory. We do not have an immune system. There is no such silly thing as a pathogen, an evil bacteria, or a virus. That is all complete nonsense. All “disease” comes from within, from the accumulation of toxins, from acute poisoning, from accumulated damage due to consuming non-human food such as carbohydrates and fiber, and from psychological traumas and stressing the body (the central nervous system and the organs.)

What these charlatans call “immune system” is simply our natural healing response that is called into action when we need to detox/eliminate stored toxins and repair damaged tissue, when a psychological trauma has been resolved, or whenever we hurt ourselves.

Now, histamine is a crucial part of our healing response, as it aids in wound healing and the growth/repair of both the skin and blood vessels, it functions as a vasodilator, increasing blood flow of nutrients to the area that needs repair, it recruits white blood cells, helping with discharging cellular debris, and its signaling pathways influence the transcription of NF-κB, NFAT, CREB, and AP-1, which are involved in tissue repair and regeneration.
Also, histamine stimulates gastric acid secretion by mucosal parietal cells, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of the gastrointestinal tract and promoting healing (a bad diet, and especially fiber and plant-based foods will destroy your gastrointestinal tract.) And additionally, histamine acts as a neurotransmitter, transmitting signals between neurons and other cells, influencing various physiological processes, including those involved in repair and healing.

From this, we can draw the conclusion that histamine levels will be elevated whenever the body needs to repair and heal tissue, especially blood vessels and the gastrointestinal tract, areas that are heavily damaged by carbohydrates, fiber, defense chemicals, antinutrients and seed/vegetable oils. And as histamine has specific effects on the body, elevated levels (also through food) will likely trigger different effects in the body as also seen during tissue repair and healing.

Although histamine is essential, some individuals may suffer adverse reactions when its levels become imbalanced, leading to a condition known as histamine intolerance. This can result in various “unpleasant” symptoms.

Histamine intolerance is described as a ‘disorder’ characterized by an impaired ability to metabolize ingested histamine, leading to an accumulation of this biogenic amine in the body. Histamine intolerance is believed to occur when the body is unable to break down histamine due to a deficiency in the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO,) which is responsible for deaminating histamine in the intestine. DAO is a copper-dependent amino oxidase that catalyzes the oxidative deamination of histamine, converting it into imidazoleacetaldehyde and ammonia.

In individuals with histamine intolerance, the impaired DAO activity allows histamine to accumulate in the body, triggering various physiological responses such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, itching, the hives, vasodilation, hypotension, tachycardia, bronchospasm, rhinitis, headaches, fatigue, and insomnia.

“A low histamine diet may benefit those who experience symptoms like sneezing, itching, or hives after consuming histamine-rich foods. By following a low histamine diet, individuals can identify which foods trigger their symptoms and potentially see improvements.”

Yes, the current recommended “solution” is avoiding histamine-rich foods and histamine-releasing substances. That however, does not address the problem — and the question is whether there is a problem with impaired DAO activity as described.

As I’ve already covered what histamine is and how it works, we’ll skip that bit in Matt’s article.

“A 2018 review highlights histamine’s ‘paradoxical nature,’ noting that it can both increase and decrease inflammation levels. Laboratory experiments cited in the review also suggest that histamine may help wound healing and prevent tumor growth.”

Paradoxical nature? Within physiology and biology we’ve known for ages that histamine plays a crucial role in all tissue healing. Alas, this is what happens when indoctrinated puppets of the medical field do not even look into all the research and verified data available within these much older and much more credible fields of science.

What is the Low Histamine Diet?

A low histamine diet is a wipe-out diet designed to manage histamine intolerance. The aim is to minimize the consumption of histamine-rich foods to reduce symptoms like migraines, skin irritations, and digestive problems.

Yes, since these symptoms will impact your life negatively, minimizing ‘histamine-rich’ foods is a temporary solution that might be necessary.

“This diet involves avoiding foods high in histamine or those that trigger histamine release in the body. Fresh, unprocessed produce usually has lower histamine levels, whereas fermented foods are often high in histamine.”

I would not call it a diet, rather an ‘approach to eating.’ And yes, fresh food usually has less histamines than aged or fermented food. Also, boiling or steaming can decrease histamines while grilling or frying, especially at higher temperatures, as well as reheating food will increase histamine levels.

Foods Safe on a Low-Histamine Diet

  • Eggs: Whether boiled, fried, or poached, eggs are low in histamine, making them suitable for a low-histamine diet.
  • Boiled Meat: Boiling meat helps keep histamine levels low, making it a safer option and protein source.
  • Boiled Fish: Boiling fish results in lower histamine levels, unlike frying or grilling.”

I removed “legumes” from this list, as that is non-human food and among the most toxic and damaging crap you can consume. Also, fresh  and non-fermented dairy products such as butter, ghee, cream cheese, cottage cheese, and raw milk are usually low in histamines as well.

Foods High in Histamines

  • “Fermented Foods: Foods like wine, cheese, sauerkraut, and beer have high histamine levels due to the fermentation process.
  • Altered Meat: Processed meats, grilled pork, and grilled chicken have high histamine levels, making them unsuitable for a low-histamine diet.
  • Vegetables: Spinach, eggplant, and tomatoes have naturally high histamine levels and should be avoided.
  • Fruit: Citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, and tangerines, as well as bananas, grapes, and strawberries, release histamines when eaten.
  • Altered Fish: Fried or smoked fish, such as fried anchovies and smoked mackerel, have high histamine levels and should be avoided.”

Although no human should ever consume them, dried fruits and berries are extremely high in histamines. And so are all alcoholic beverages and chocolate. As you can see, the common thread is mostly plant-based crap that already is full of other damaging compounds such as defense chemicals and antinutrients.

If you follow our natural proper human diet of animal foods, the only concern is the age of your meat and your cooking method (as you should never touch processed and altered meat products.)

Benefits of the Low Histamine Diet

While a low histamine diet is not typically a miracle cure, it can significantly improve a patient’s overall well-being.

No, it will not cure anything. It’s a temporary solution to lessen or remove symptoms so you can function in your daily life.

1. Diagnostic Tool
A low histamine diet can help confirm histamine intolerance or other related health conditions.
By monitoring symptom changes when histamine intake is reduced, individuals and healthcare professionals can identify whether histamine is a contributing factor to their health issues. This clarity allows for more targeted and effective treatment plans.

Yes, that sounds good. However, there are no “treatment plans” within the medical field. However, if you switch to our natural proper diet, you do not need one. And we’ll get to that — if you haven’t figured it all out yet.

2. Symptom Relief
Controlling dietary histamine intake often leads to symptom improvement for many people, including fewer migraines, clearer skin, better digestion, and other health benefits. This decrease in symptoms not only improves physical health but also improves overall quality of life.

Yes, we already covered this. It’s a band-aid, but it’s not a solution.

3. Customized Approach
The low histamine diet offers flexibility and customization to meet individual needs and preferences. This approach helps individuals pinpoint particular foods that worsen their condition, enabling them to customize their diet accordingly. This personalized approach ensures that the diet is both effective and sustainable, as individuals can tailor their food choices to suit their health requirements and lifestyle.

Again, it’s a band-aid. It will make you feel better, but it will not exactly address the underlying problem. No one should need to limit their food choices for the rest of their lives. And if they follow the retarded guidelines, most will consume a shitload of vegetables such as leafy greens, broccoli, carrots and sweet potatoes while adding in some fruits such as berries, citrus fruits and apples. Thus, they will continue to have a very high toxic load from all the antinutrients, defense chemicals, and pesticides. And that takes us to the conclusion, as Matt ended his article here without any real solution or real explanation to what is going on. So much for going down the alleged ‘rabbit hole.’

The conclusion by yours truly

As we already established, histamine is released whenever your body needs to repair and heal tissue. And as you know, anyone who is on, or has been following a typical modern diet that contains plant-based and/or processed food, will have a lot of damage done to blood vessels, soft tissues, and especially the digestive system. In many cases, there is “chronic inflammation,” which simply means that healing is continuously taking place as the body cannot keep up and finish. You inflict damage daily through your diet while not getting enough nutrients needed to expel all the toxins and repair all the harm being done. The need for detoxing and tissue repair becomes a never ending cycle, and as most people are overfed but undernourished, the damage will accumulate as the body can’t keep up, leading to a myriad of “diseases” and eventually cardiovascular disease and organ damage/failure.

This means that histamine levels will be elevated in most people. And if you on top of that consume food that is rich in histamines, your body will simply be oversaturated with histamine and that will cause several issues on its own, as it is a potent compound with many functions as we covered earlier.

So, it’s not necessarily an “histamine intolerance,” it is much more likely an “histamine overload,” due to your body being too damaged and in a constant state of healing and repair. Thus, “histamine intolerance” is likely a combination of elevated histamine levels from tissue repair processes and the consumption of high-histamine foods.

And if the Diamine oxidase theory is correct, that condition would worsen the scenario even further. However, an “insufficient” ability to break down histamine, if it exists, is not the real problem, the real problem is the damage you have done to your body by following a non-human diet which keeps your natural histamine levels elevated due to continuous tissue repair.

This would explain why so many in the Carnivore community have initial problems with high-histamine foods, as they have a lot of healing taking place, especially when you finally get all the nutrients you need. Once you get all essential nutrients in bioavailable form, which is only possible through animal-based foods, healing and tissue repair is accelerated manifold, and thus your natural levels of histamine will go up dramatically as it is needed in these processes.

So, the more healing that is taking place, the more sensitive you will be towards histamine-rich foods, as your histamine levels will simply become too high.
And that also explains why most people who have transitioned to our natural carnivorous diet can actually tolerate high-histamine foods again after a few years, as at that stage they have healed most of the serious damage their previous diet has caused and their natural levels of histamine have gone down.

In other words, the only way to fix what has been labeled as “histamine intolerance” is to assist the body in healing itself, which can only be done through eliminating all plant-based and processed foods and only consuming animal-based foods and doing some fasting.

So, there you have it. It always comes back to the inverted modern diet and our modern lifestyle that is causing damage to us daily and shortens our life expectancy dramatically. The only solution to all these health problems is to adopt our natural species-appropriate, species-specific diet so we can heal. And as healing is taking place and symptoms might arise from high histamine levels, then simply focus on low-histamine foods for a while, and when some healing has taken place, you can occasionally try some high-histamine foods to see how you react. Eventually, when fully healed, they should no longer pose a problem.

Again, if you want to maximize your life quality, energy levels, your life expectancy and simply feel like a human again, all you need to do is to adopt our natural human carnivorous diet.
