Changes To The Brain During Pregnancy Is Due To Nutrient Deficiencies

Today we return to the shills at Medical News Today and their latest look at some “research” into pregnancy and the changes that can occur to the brain. As this is very relevant to proper human nutrition, and I have touched on the subject in the past in my article “Starting or Expanding Your Family – How nutrition and toxins influence your child” from 2017, let’s see what MNT has to say this time.

“During pregnancy, the female body goes through a variety of physical changes, including additional blood in the body, faster heart rate, increased work on the kidneys, deeper breathing, and alterations to the digestive tract that may cause heartburn, nausea, or vomiting.”

Those with limited understanding of physiology and biology will say that these ‘physical changes’ are individual and many of them are simply “natural” occurrences or adaptations, which is all very far from the truth. Some changes are natural and necessary to support the development of a growing life, while other physical changes and symptoms are due to nutrient deficiencies, hormonal imbalances and a high toxic load due to a bad diet and exposure to chemicals. 

“Most — if not all — of these changes are due to pregnancy hormones, such as estrogen, progesterone, and human chorionic gonadotropin.”

The natural hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy are to support fetal development and prepare the mother’s body (mainly the uterus) for childbirth and also prepare her breasts for lactation. All other changes and/or problems are due to a very poor lifestyle and diet.

“Previous research shows that pregnancy hormones can also cause changes in the brain.”

Yes, that is one of the reasons why estrogen increases, as it improves cognitive performance, especially in tasks involving attention and spatial processing, as in the ability to perceive, analyze, understand, store, and recall visual information in relation to the outside world, including one’s own body and the spatial relationships between objects. Also, estrogen reinforces female traits. All these changes are beneficial for a pregnancy and the time after birth.

“Now, researchers from the University of California — Santa Barbara have for the first time shown how hormonal shifts alter the brain throughout pregnancy, including changes to the amount of white and gray matter in the brain.”

Well, this will be interesting as we know through the extensive research within physiology and biology that our body will never do anything to hurt or sabotage itself, as in changes to gray and white matter. Our bodies only adapt to our terrain and situation, always trying its best to survive and make sure we live for as long as possible so we can escape whatever is hurting us (as in toxins and a bad diet.)
And during a pregnancy, the focus is on furthering the species, as in developing and giving birth to a functional human being, no matter the cost (unless actually killing the mother, which will not happen, and if the mother is extremely malnourished and/or toxic, she will have a miscarriage instead.)

Precision imaging uncovers key brain changes in pregnancy

“For this study, researchers followed a 38-year-old woman, taking 26 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans and blood draws starting 3 weeks preconception up to 2 years following childbirth.”

Anyone should be able to see the problem with this design. Only one single woman and if we read the study methods and their little note about the participant, it only states that she underwent in-vitro fertilization (IVF) to achieve pregnancy and had no history of neuropsychiatric diagnosis, endocrine disorders, prior head trauma or history of smoking. That’s it! Not a word about her lifestyle or diet, which are the most important factors when it comes to any symptoms, complications or changes during pregnancy and childbirth.

Reduction in gray matter during pregnancy: Is it really a bad thing?

“Upon analyzing the MRI scans, Jacobs and her team discovered the most noticeable changes to the study participant’s brain throughout her pregnancy was a reduction in cortical gray matter volume, which persisted after giving birth.”

Well, gray matter is primarily responsible for processing and interpreting sensory information, governing muscle control, facilitating decision-making, and higher-level cognitive functions such as memory, emotions, speech, and self-control.
All these cognitive functions are crucial for any human being, and especially a woman who is pregnant and is contributing to the survival of the species. Do you really think that reducing the brain’s gray matter is a natural adaptation to being pregnant? 

“Jacobs emphasized that sometimes people bristle when they hear that gray matter volume decreases during pregnancy, but this probably isn’t a bad thing. This change reflects the ‘fine-tuning’ of neural circuits, not unlike the cortical thinning that happens during puberty. In both cases, this adaptive process enables the brain to become more specialized.”

So, the brain becomes more “specialized” for the role of becoming a mother by reducing higher-level cognitive functions such as memory, emotions, speech, and self-control?
If a dictionary would need a new picture to illustrate the definition of stupidity, we could use your face and this quote, Jacobs.

Increase in brain white matter during pregnancy

“Additionally, scientists found noteworthy increases in white matter located deeper in the brain, which they reported peaked in the second trimester and returned to normal pre-pregnancy levels around the time of birth.”

White matter connects different gray matter areas and facilitates communication between different brain regions. When one is starving, as in not having enough essential fatty acids, the brain can undergo a process of breakdown to supply omega-3, cholesterol, and saturated fats. In this context, gray matter is prioritized for degradation over white matter, as white matter connects all the parts of the brain. Actually, white matter may at first increase a little to support communication as gray matter is broken down. However, if the nutrient deficiencies are not remedied, this reinforcement will soon stop as there are not enough nutrients to continue.

“There is so much about the neurobiology of pregnancy that we don’t understand yet, Jacobs said. “It’s not because women are too complicated; it’s not because pregnancy is some Gordian knot. It’s a byproduct of the fact that the biomedical sciences often ignore women’s health. It’s 2024 and this is the first glimpse we have at this fascinating neurobiological transition and our ignorance has consequences.”

Yes, you lot are totally ignorant because you do not look at all the available data and literature within human physiology and biology, and you can’t put one and two together. Also, you’re most likely indoctrinated with the backwards “nutrition science,” so you do not even look at the obvious problem, that of a lacking non-human diet that 99% of all people follow without a second thought.

What purpose do these brain changes serve?

“After reviewing this study, Clifford Segil, DO, neurologist at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, CA, told MNT he found this research to be fascinating and thought-provoking. It is fascinating to see data that suggests a pregnant mother has a transient increase of white matter with a decrease in gray matter while pregnant, he added.”

It’s not fascinating if you actually understand the basics of biology. No living organism, including the human body, will ever hurt or sabotage itself. It will only adapt to the circumstances. If you follow a retarded plant-focused and processed diet, especially when pregnant, you will develop several nutrient deficiencies and your body will have no choice but to break itself down to do what it can to develop the growing life inside. However, while this does not guarantee that the baby will be fully developed and healthy, the mother will suffer a lot either way.

“During pregnancy, this paper demonstrated, the mom [whose case the researchers] studied had a decrease in the amount of ‘computers’ running, with an increase in the amount of ‘cables’ running around her brain. Imagine a room with extra surge protectors, extension cords, network wires is like a pregnant woman’s brain, which is fascinating. Like many things in neuroscience, the next step will be to ask why and how this knowledge can help a pregnant woman’s health.”

No, you stupid little twat, the reduction in gray matter was due to her poor typical modern diet, a diet lacking in animal fats, as in omega-3, and/or cholesterol, and/or saturated fats.

And this is why these changes has been observed for as long a 6 years postpartum, as most mothers do not consume enough fatty meat, fatty fish, and/or eggs, so any nutrient deficiency, especially after such a harsh depletion as a pregnancy, will take a very long time to recover from  — not to mention the rebuilding of gray matter which requires a lot of animal fats.

So, to conclude, a reduction in gray matter is simply an emergency strategy by the body as it prioritizes the growing life, the fetus. Since even a minor nutritional deficiency would hamper a baby’s growth, mother nature has provided a built-in safety mechanism, allocating as many resources to the placenta as it can get away with, even if it means putting the mother’s health at some risk. The baby-protection mechanism is so powerful that even on a plant-based and highly processed diet, a woman can expect to produce a baby with at least ten fingers and ten toes.

Of course, the worse the diet, the more the mother and the baby will suffer. For example, if the mother is fully plant-based or even vegan, the baby will be born with a lot of structural and skeletal problems, including health problems that will manifest throughout his/her life. Even worse if babies and children are fed anything plant-based. It’s the worst kind of child abuse. And that is what these studies try to hide. The extreme importance of our natural diet, that of human nutrition.

All the mothers I know who have had an effortless pregnancy, as in no nausea, pain, stiffness, cognitive decline, and produced perfectly healthy babies followed an animal-dominant diet with plenty of meat, eggs, and dairy, with very little plant-based toxic crap. Those who always do best are of course following our natural human carnivorous diet.
