Today we return to the awful pharmaceutical shill-site Medscape Medical News and a recent review of a study on time-restricted eating and reductions in body weight, especially in VAT.
Let’s get right into it.
Methodology
“Although previous studies suggest that TRE may lead to modest weight loss and improvements in cardiometabolic health, the optimal timing of the eating window in TRE and its impact on VAT remains unclear.”
Perhaps among full-blown retards like these monkeys trying to do “science.” Among the rest of us, especially those of us that have worked all their life within this field, like myself with more than 35 years of hands-on experience, this is common sense.
When it comes to time-restricted eating, or intermittent fasting, which is our natural way of eating, there is only one rule; always eat in the morning/mid-morning and never eat in the evening. That simply means that your last meal of the day should always be at least 4 to 6 hours before you go to bed. This is common sense as our body is biologically primed for food intake during the mid-morning and our detoxification and repair processes only work in a fasted state, and these crucial processes are also enhanced multiple times when we sleep. Thus, you always want to go to sleep in a fasted state — if not, your body will struggle with detoxification and tissue repair, and you will become a toxic mess a lot quicker, especially if you have been deceived into consuming anything plant-based or man-made/processed.
For more on this, please read my articles, “Time-Restricted Eating (Intermittent Fasting) Done The Right Way,” “Time-Restricted Eating Is Our Natural Approach To Food (Detoxing, Healing, Fat Loss),” and “Eating In The Evening Contributes To Diabetes? Eating Late Is Always Bad!”
Keep in mind that you are not in a fasted state until the food has passed the small intestine and all nutrients has been absorbed, and this usually takes 4 to 6 or even 8 hours for a medium sized mixed meal.
In other words, eat breakfast whenever you are ready, and have one or two additional meals during the day and with the last meal no later than 4 hours before bed, preferably 6 hours. So, for example, eat your meals at 7 am, 11.00 am, and 3 pm. Simple, effective, and very healthy — as long as all your food is animal-based. And as a nice bonus, your sleep quality will skyrocket!
“To examine the effects of different TRE schedules on VAT and cardiometabolic health, researchers conducted a 12-week multicenter randomized clinical trial in Spain in adults with overweight or obesity (body mass index ≥ 25 and < 40), abdominal obesity, a sedentary lifestyle, eating window ≥ 12 hours, and at least one cardiometabolic risk factor.”
VAT simply stands for visceral adipose tissue, the fat that accumulates behind the abdominal muscles/wall, as within the abdominal cavity and surrounds vital organs. I covered visceral fat recently in my article “Pot Belly 101: What Actually Causes Visceral Fat Accumulation.”
“Participants were randomly assigned into four groups: Usual care, early TRE, late TRE, and self-selected TRE.”
While “early TRE” will be the healthiest option, the most effective for fat loss will be the option with the shortest window for feeding, as long as food selection remains the same and you do not eat right before bed, which would really screw you over.
“The usual care group maintained their eating schedule and received education on the Mediterranean diet and physical activity. The TRE groups also received the usual care but followed an 8-hour eating window. Early TRE participants started eating by 10:00, late TRE participants started eating after 13:00, and self-selected TRE participants chose their preferred eating window.”
The Mediterranean diet is complete and utter garbage, extremely toxic due to vegetables and seed/vegetable oils. It can actually be worse than relying on some processed food items. So, this means that the toxic load likely did not change in any of the groups, and they likely did not get more of the life-essential saturated fats and cholesterol that are needed for hormone production and tissue repair, including detoxification.
And the “late TRE” who began eating after 1.00 pm was really screwed, as that means that their last meal was as late as 9.00 pm (21:00,) which for normal people is right before bed. That is an extremely unhealthy approach, especially when the diet is complete shit (as in this case with the retarded Mediterranean diet,) which prolongs the digestion and the release of toxins.
Also, “early TRE” was not early at all. 10.00 pm is not early, and that means that their last meal was at 6.00 pm (18:00,) only about 3 or 4 hours before bed. Depending on the size of the meal, considering plant-based garbage, they were not in a fasted state until 10.00 pm or 12.00 am.
So, this study was a complete mess, showing how uneducated and inexperienced the researchers were. Embarrassing!
“The primary outcome was the change in VAT, measured using MRI, after the intervention at 12 weeks.”
Let me take a guess. There were nearly no changes at all, as visceral fat accumulation is mainly driven by toxicity that damages the organs, as in toxins from plant-based- and processed foods, increasing the need for this fat tissue to supply fatty acids and signaling molecules for tissue repair. This accumulation of VAT is also increased if cortisol levels are continuously elevated, as in your body being stressed and/or when the body takes a lot of damage from toxins. And time-restricted eating can actually increase stress if the diet is lacking due to nutrient deficiencies, thus increasing cortisol to aid in healing and energy production.
Lastly, in some individuals, who mostly seem to accumulate VAT and not that much fat in other areas of the body, the relationship between testosterone and estrogen also comes into play. However, that is not really relevant for this study.
Takeaway
“Researchers randomized 197 adults (99 men and 98 women) to usual care (n = 49; mean age, 46.7 years), early TRE (n = 49; mean age, 47.2 years), late TRE (n = 52; mean age, 48.0 years), and self-selected TRE (n = 47; mean age, 45.2 years).”
Damn, that was quite the young population for being obese and also having a lot of VAT, as the subjects were between only 30 and 60. The mean age was actually lower than my own age (almost 51) and my body fat is always in the single digits and my biological and cardiovascular age is 15 to 20 years below my actual age. And that is after surviving several tumors and looming multiple organ failures and beating asthma and allergies I have had for 40 years. But again, I’ve been a raw carnivore since 2018, when I turned everything around, following our natural human species-specific diet, the food that we are built for. These poor bastards likely ate anything society served them and then they tried to adopt the extremely damaging and retarded Mediterranean diet. Poor suckers.
“No significant differences in VAT changes were observed between the TRE groups and the usual care group.”
Told you. Time-restricted eating will force most people to eat less, but the quantity of food is not really important. It’s the quality of food that is important! Humans are obligate hyper carnivores, and unless you get plenty of animal-based foods in your diet, your body will not work properly. And anything else you consume, as in plant-based and processed, will be toxic, contributing to the toxic load, doing damage, causing stress, and interfering with your hormones.
To reduce VAT you need to heavily reduce your toxic load and also nourish your body so it can heal and thus reduce its reliance on that VAT tissue it had to accumulate to survive that previous toxic terrain.
“Body weight reduction was greater in all TRE groups than in the usual care group, with the mean difference (MD) being −2.9 kg for the early TRE group, −2.4 kg for the late TRE group, and −3.1 kg for the self-selected TRE group (P < .001, .004, and < .001, respectively).”
As suspected, the “Early TRE” lost a bit more body fat than the stupid “Late TRE,” likely due to improving health and metabolic functions a little bit more as repair and detoxification could take place during most of the night. And the “self-selected TRE” did a tiny bit better still, likely because the “Early TRE” was not early at all, and those deciding for themselves likely had breakfast.
“Compared with the usual care group, the early TRE group showed a greater reduction in subcutaneous adipose tissue (MD, −5%; P = .005), fasting glucose levels (MD, −6 mg/dL; P = .01), and energy intake (MD, −307 kcal/d; P = .01).”
Yes, they simply consumed less food and thus also got less toxins. However, they did not reduce the toxic load and improve their nutritional status to such a degree that VAT was effected, which once again shows how extremely bad the Mediterranean diet is.
In Practice
“These results underscore the potential of TRE to facilitate substantial weight loss, even without specific dietary counseling on caloric restrictions,” the authors wrote. “TRE, regardless of when the eating window occurs, tends to lead to similar energy deficits, resulting in similar changes in body weight and composition.”
Yes, because most people eat less when they only have 6 or 8 hours when they are allowed to eat, compared to 12 hours or more, especially when they have to stick to three meals and no snacks. It’s simple mathematics.
Still, fat loss is not what is important for health. Fat loss should simply be an additional effect of adopting better eating habits. What is important is nourishing the body and eliminating the toxic load! When this is the focus, as in focusing on health, life quality, and longevity, if you are overweight, fat loss will naturally follow.
To conclude, this study simply proves that losing some body fat is irrelevant if the diet is still bad and contributes to a high toxic load. And this extends to people who adopt time-restricted eating while still consuming the same shitty foods as before. In many cases, the outcome could actually be worse if you only adopt a time-restriction on your eating as you will consume even less food, and thus get even less nutrients. If your diet is shitty and you start eating less, you will develop even greater nutrient deficiencies.
So, in other words, the only way to properly do time-restricted eating, as we are intended to do, is by consuming mainly animal-based foods, adhering to our natural human diet, the foods that we are made to consume. As long as you do not do this, you will never be healthy or live a long life, no matter if you succeed in dropping some body fat or not. It’s irrelevant. The only thing that matters is supplying our bodies with all essential nutrients while minimizing the toxic load.
