Why Cold (Detox) Symptoms Feel More Intense at Night

Today we return to the disinformation agents at Verywell Health and an article called “Why Cold Symptoms Feel More Intense at Night, Explained by Experts.” I can’t help but chuckle whenever these charlatans add the silly phrase “explained by experts.” None of these people are “experts.” They are at best useful indoctrinated fools repeating dogmatic propaganda and nonsense — and at times they’re government shills simply sticking to the script of the current agendas. Either way, they know absolutely nothing about human health, about biology, physiology or biochemistry.

As for symptoms getting worse at night, if you’ve followed my work or are somewhat versed in biology and physiology, you already know the answer, but we’ll get to that. First, let’s see what these muppets have to say.

“The average adult gets two to three colds a year, and each can last about a week. Cold symptoms, like runny nose and cough, generally tend to be mild. So, why do those same cold symptoms suddenly feel miserable when you’re trying to sleep?”

The average adult in today’s backwards society is a wandering toxic and unhealthy mess. And I should know, as I used to be one of those people when I worked in the health- and fitness industry, including modern medicine and the pharmaceutical industry (actually being way more educated and trained than a “doctor”.) However, that was before I discovered the truth about our physiology and species appropriate diet. In the past, I was diagnosed with severe allergies, asthma, early stage type 2 diabetes, mild irritable bowel syndrome, and mild eczema. I used to get pneumonia or sinusitis at least once every year, followed by what they call the “flu” and the “common cold.” On average, I was sick three to four times a year, from one week up to three weeks at a time. And to be honest, most of this was caused by the influence of my education and training in modern nutrition and medicine. However, when I was faced with several tumors and organ failure in 2018 and adopted our natural human carnivore diet combined with prolonged fasting, I healed all my “ailments” and “diseases,” including 40 years of asthma and allergies. I could throw away all my medications and in the last 7 years, I have only had a few short detoxes, as in “cold symptoms” lasting 8 to 12 hours — and one case of sinusitis for a few days as my sinuses are destroyed after doctors flushing them several times when I was a kid (so the tissue cannot detox properly.)

My point is that it is not natural to get what they label as “cold” or “flu” two to three times a year. If you’re healthy, you detox continuously around the clock, and it always “intensifies” during the night, unless you sabotage yourself (as in eating close to bedtime.) Thus, you will only notice mild symptoms if you have recently been exposed to a lot of toxins and your body is flushing them out. Otherwise, you should never experience what they label as being “sick.”

Your Circadian Rhythm May Influence Your Symptoms

“Your circadian rhythm is your body’s 24-hour internal clock. It regulates many bodily functions, including your sleep-wake cycle.

While your immune system is already hyperactive when you have an illness, including the common cold, your circadian rhythm may cause it to ramp up even more at night, Seibert said. That triggers inflammation in the body, which can make your symptoms worse.”

If you do not understand ‘inflammation,’ please do not use that word as it is very misleading and misunderstood due to ignorant people in the medical field. Inflammation is simply a man-made name/term for experiencing several symptoms that might manifest when your body is healing and/or detoxifying damaged tissue. The symptoms are from the healing response and the involvement of various cell types, including white blood cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts, as well as the release of chemical mediators such as cytokines, chemokines, and eicosanoids. If toxins are present, bacteria and/or fungi will assist in breaking it down, and bacteria will also break down damaged tissue, as in removing damaged cells.
In other words, inflammation is a natural response to improvement of your health, as in healing, as in removing toxins and restoring damaged tissue.

If you follow our natural diet and live healthy, there will be minimal inflammation, as there’s nothing to detoxify and no damage to heal. If you consume plant-based and/or processed foods and thus are unhealthy, there will be a lot of inflammation. However, you do not want to lower or stop inflammation, as that would stop the healing — accelerating the toxic buildup and damage. Instead, you want to remove the offenders that cause the damage, the offenders that force the body to get inflamed to keep up and heal. See how that works? It’s extremely simple and logical, yet the majority of indoctrinated (or paid-off) “experts” can’t even grasp this simple concept. Frightening.

So, while we detoxify continuously around the clock, our detoxification abilities are hampered every time our body has to prioritize something else; as in dealing with stress responses or dealing with digestion after a meal. In other words, detoxification and healing is most effective when we are in a fasted state and when we do not experience acute stress, as from stressful events or stimulants such as caffeine. In other words, our bodies can detox “uninterrupted” when we reach a fasted state during sleep, and that is why “symptoms” worsen. Again, extremely simple and logical.

And again, there is no such thing as an “immune system.” There is nothing in nature that you can get “immune” to. We only get “ailments” from toxicity, nutrient deficiencies, trauma or direct injury.

Your Cortisol Levels Drop

“Cortisol is a hormone that the body makes in response to stress, but it also helps to regulate immune function and inflammation in the body.

Cortisol levels tend to rise naturally in the morning, which can help to reduce inflammation and your cold symptoms along with it, Seibert explained. But cortisol levels drop at night, which can make you start to feel worse, he said.”

Half truths while neglecting what is important. Surprised? Not a bit. These people are frikkin’ clueless about biology and physiology.
Cortisol is not a “stress hormone.” Cortisol rises naturally in the morning as it’s an energy mobilizing hormone. It assists in gluconeogenesis, as in producing our own natural glucose. Thus, it increases in the morning so we can wake up and get moving, as in acquiring food. And that is also why it is released during a stress response, as your body needs more energy to be able to flee or fight. However, that does not make it a “stress hormone,” you dimwit.

Cortisol also helps by protecting cells and aiding in repair, this is crucial as detoxification and healing is hampered during the day due to activities (stress) and feeding (digestion,) thus the cells need extra protection. And that is also why cortisol normally declines at night, as glucose is not needed as you are about to sleep.

However, if you have a lot of damage, your cortisol levels will be slightly elevated even at night, as it is needed for the removal of damaged and dead cells.

So, no. Cortisol dropping a bit at night is not what is causing you to feel worse. It’s simply part of our natural daily cycle of being awake and active and then going to sleep.

You’re Horizontal

“Most people sit or stand upright during the day, which can help post-nasal drip to drain down the back of the throat, Thomas Russo, MD, a professor and chief of infectious disease at the University at Buffalo in New York, told Verywell Health. “When you lie down, that drainage is harder to clear,” he said. “It can be very disruptive in terms of falling asleep and sleep patterns.”

Yes, this is true during heavy detoxification phases. And you cannot blame your body or physiology for this, as heavy detoxes are extremely unnatural. Things that we call a “flu,” as in a heavy detox, is the result of massive toxic buildup, which is only made possible by consuming the completely wrong foods for your species and exposing yourself to a lot of toxins, as in environmental toxins and pollution. Again, remove these offenders and you will never have to experience these heavy detoxes ever again.

You’re More Aware of Your Symptoms

“It’s common to be distracted during the day by work and other things happening in your life. But when you settle in to sleep at night, there are usually less distractions. “As a result, you focus right in on those symptoms,” Russo said.”

Again, only if you’re a wuss and very toxic, as in experience a heavy detoxification. However, this is not something that makes the symptoms worse. You are simply more aware of them. Big difference.

Tips To Manage Your Cold Symptoms

“Doctors recommend doing a few different things to feel better while dealing with a cold at night.”

Doctors are among the most indoctrinated, dumbed-down and retarded people in the world. But for fun, let’s see some of these “recommendations.”

Sleep with your head propped up. This helps to prevent mucus from pooling in the back of your throat, where it can make you feel worse, Seibert said.”

Not only your head, as in using pillows, that would mess your neck up. How you word things matters. You could try sleeping with an incline, where your head is higher up than your feet, as in elevating the head/front-end of your bed by two to three inches or so.

Try a humidifier. This can help prevent your nasal passages from drying out in the night, Seibert said.”

This depends on the humidity in your room to begin with. It can be a hit or miss. Usually, a humidity between 30 to 50% is ideal. If you go higher, you might experience reversed benefits, especially in the body’s ability to cool itself through sweating. It can cause the airways to become congested and irritated, leading to increased difficulty in breathing. And as moisture/water is bad for our skin, high humidity can cause the skin to retain moisture, which can lead to irritation, rashes, and accelerated aging.

So, if you use a humidifier, make sure to keep track of the humidity, using a hygrometer, and never go above 60%, preferably keep it below 50%.

Stay well hydrated. Dehydration can make mucus thicker and harder to clear, Seibert said. That’s why it’s a good idea to drink plenty of water when you’re sick.”

Water alone won’t cut it. You need both water and electrolytes, as in sodium, potassium and a little bit of magnesium. And do not use the word “sick,” use the proper word, as in ‘detoxing.’

Consider an anti-inflammatory medication. Medications like acetaminophen and ibuprofen can help with pressure caused by nasal swelling, Seibert said.”

Consider ‘anti-healing medication?’ Seibert, you frikkin’ big pharma pushing shill! Never take any kind of drug or medication, and especially not those that are anti-healing, as in “anti-inflammatory,” as you will severely hamper or even shut-down the detoxification and healing process, causing more accumulation of toxins and damage.

Only consider such vile things if you can’t handle the symptoms and your body is so weak that you can’t manage to do anything. In such cases, you need to detox in short intervals while fixing your diet to slowly heal and detox. I’ve covered this many times.

Take a steamy shower. If you’re struggling and can’t sleep, take a shower with plenty of steam. “This will help to loosen mucus, so you can clear those secretions,” Russo said.”

No, warm, and especially hot water, is extremely bad for your skin. Also, it will artificially raise your body temperature, causing a lot of additional stress. Instead, boil a pot of water and place your head over it with a towel over your head and breathe in the steam to help with loosening the mucus.

And that was it for this low grade article. To summarize, symptoms worsen because detoxification and healing intensifies during rest and sleep, and symptoms are simply manifestations of the detoxification and the healing process. They are a necessary evil if you have abused your body by exposing it to toxins and the wrong kind of food.

The solution is simple. Adopt our natural human diet of animal-based foods and avoid chemicals, pollutants, and other toxins to the best of your ability and your body will be able to keep up with your daily detoxification and healing, and thus you will never have to experience this again.
